Lambda Theta Alpha created the Melanie Rosado Scholarship Bowl, to pay
homage to our Honorary Sister, Melanie Rosado, who while a student at
Bulkeley High School, tragically passed away in her senior year. We believe
that Melanie exemplified our principles of Unity, Love and Respect, in every
aspect of her life, through her academic excellence and service to the
community.

Bulkeley High School established the Melanie Rosado Scholarship Fund
in honor of her contributions to the community and society. This award is
presented yearly to students who achieve high academic standards and
provide community service.
Through the Scholarship Bowl, we are able to provide financial support to
the Melanie Rosado Scholarship Fund. Since its inception in 2000, this
event has raised over $10,000 in scholarship money that has been
awarded to 9 recipients.
